TSComptuned / 2.4LR FP Black Stainless SS housing GSC R2 Cams 93octane | 588/478tq

I did some late night tuning on one of my customers cars. I've tuned this car on multiple FP turbos. On the FP red we made 523WHP in twin scroll form on 93oct, and now with 93 and a few more mods such as the FP manifold and S90 TB It did an amazing 580WHP+ on 93octane.

Temps outside were in the low 70's.
Cars from Alabama

Mods are:
Evo 9 SE
Built 2.4LR / MAP rods / wiseco HD pistons 9.0:1
MAP Stage 4 Ported cylinder head (Kiggly Springs, L19 Headstuds)
GSC Mivec R2 Cams
MAP Rev 3 Intake mani ported by Curt Brown
70MM S90 throttle body
FP Black (Stainless Single Scroll housing (SS))
FP Exhaust manifold ported by Curt Brown
MAP 02 Eliminator downpipe with external 38mm Tial WG
Velocity stack intake
Buschur Race FMIC
ETS LICP / Buschur UICP
Buschur Double Pumper
FIC 2150cc
Grimmspeed 3 port
Exedy Twin HD /w monoloc
Tephra v7 Speed density /w ecuboost

A few pics of the car. I'll upload more later.

that is very nice peak numbers for pump gas. very nice actually.
but.
the low end is terrible. the spool is 500 rpm slower than typical for a 600ish hp black on a stroker. found several blacks (pump and e85) making 400tq 600 rm quicker. from these results I would say this should deflate any hype that this new housing is a improvement across the board. these look like the typical expectation of sacrificing spool for better top end power. TS to open scroll.

I would be interested in seeing pics of the engine bay, I have yet to see the new FP SS housing installed on someone's car.

28psi at 4400 does not seem laggy too me. So previous Blacks make that boost by 3800rpm? I find that to be a little optimistic.

Let me find the logs I had when I was running the BB black on the twin scroll setup. It not a direct comparison because i'm running a ported FP manifold, Bigger throttle body, and a full 3" downpipe. All those would play a factor in the additional lag.

this is from a pump gas black. I see 28psi 500rpm sooner and 400tq coming in 700 rpm sooner. not worth the losses to me. fast spool is everything if you want an enjoyable car to drive.

Why are your pulls starting at 2000 rpm? I'm doing my logs from 3k up? Doesn't that effect the load?

Excuse my ignorance.

full exhaust velocity is achieved in 600rpm. so you are welcome to not look at the first 600rpm of any pull. but after that you can compare.

That is also on e85, I'm on 93 octane. That can't be made as a direct comparison. Maybe when I get my e85 tune we could compare but as of now that isn't accurate.

Load the car up from a lower RPM to get it to *spool* sooner.

Amazing looking graph and the numbers speak for themselves! How much over the normal TS/93 octane numbers is this car?

oops sorry on my part. dont know why I thought that graph was from 93. e85 graphs tq up about 500rpm sooner on a turbo this size.

so these numbes are indeed super impressive.

Jerry you thought it was for 93 because of probably how the thread is made. That was his before results on e85 when the car had restricted bottlenecks. Then I helped him fix his restrictions and sold him better parts and then we did a round 2 on e85 which resulted in:

But here was the 93oct results from that particular vehicle in question:

Now the single scroll housing is doing what it was intended to do. It sacrifices low end power for top end power. So its working.

More testing will be done, and we will load the car up around 2K and ill find a car similar and overlay it just for kicks. I will also have the owner
get some pictures of under the hood so others can see how the parts look and fit.

I asked for pics of his engine bay so we could see the SS housing and FP manifold all bolted together, but he didn't give me the pics I wanted. I'll just share what he sent for now. But the next pics I post will be with the heat shield off and pics so you can see the SS housing and the entire setup in more detail.

For an all but 600whp 93oct only stock frame bolt on setup, i must say this engine bay is pretty stock looking still in the turbo department.
Everything is very tucked and hidden. Even the External WG.
