Atif's SLR2.2 ETS 6466 AEM Infinity Evo IX 804/626

Atif had been a customer and then became an employee here at English Racing which seems to have only fueled his love for this platform. After selling his Evo 8 "street" car he decided to build his Evo IX. At first on the stock motor and S1s we were able to push it further than I have gone on a stock block in a long time. Those results are in this thread -

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...treet-evo.html

tl;dr - initially 608, ultimately 672/434

The car came apart for one of our SLR2.2 but this was more in the flavor of the first 2.2 I built in Nov 2009. 4G64 block, long rods, 9.5:1 compression, GSC R2s, Fuel Injector clinic 2150s, worked head, etc. The main differences are this has a Curt Brown ported stock intake manifold and STOCK UPPER INTERCOOLER PIPE. Providing the airflow is an ETS 6466 V band kit with 0.82 housing and ETS intercooler.

We have finally started using the AEM Infinity as well, this car featuring the 506 with AEM jumper harness and our 12 tooth Evo IX specific trigger wheel. While the car is flex fuel we didnt really spend a bunch of time on the pumpgas as he intends to keep it mostly on E85 and only rely on the flex side for road trips. Since the boost is 15psi on pump (to save him from himself) the car was only making low 400s.

Results -

Dyno sheet, 3rd gear, 38-39psi, E83

Clean ex MR

Very nice....what a clean IX. Is it still using the stock 6 speed at that power level? I'm assumed the reason for leaving the stock upper piping is because he wants to retain a large battery for daily driving?

Its a 5 speed, the 6 speed didnt like the high 10 second passes it was doing at 670whp. It was more a goal to keep it stock looking from when he first bought the car and then me betting him it couldnt make 800 on the stock pipe.

I was wrong.

That is some sweet power, 600hp at 5.5rpm is fun I bet! The stock UICP is the cherry on top XD

So, now you debunked the stock UICP. No one is going to buy an aftermarket one now seeing they hold 800whp. LOL.

hahaha

This car needs a bigger throttle body, more spring, 3" upper pipe, and a Magnus. The stock pipe still has its issues as far as deforming under boost, the T bolts barely keep this one on.

At what power level do you think its necessary to upgrade the stock UICP?

I dont feel a difference between the 2 as far as power. That is what it is, the tuning is somewhat similar but in the end is definitely different. Starting, drivability, that stuff is all about the same to me.
