Evo 8 Stock block FP black - 402 HP 318 TQ - 29 psi - Buschur Tuned
#46
Yes sir. Not just any street tires either, Kumho Ecsta all seasons lol. Fair amount of spin off the line, 6k rpm 2 step, 12 psi or so at launch. My first run 60 ft would have made John Force jealous, .69 lol. Must have been a computing error, my next 2 runs were 1.69 and 1.68

ACT XTSS. It has 3 years, 13k miles, and over 70 launches on it and it's still holding up to the abuse. And thank you, I like to think I have at least a little driver mod in me.
Thanks! That's actually something on my list is an ultimate ratio trans. My car is an 8 but it has a 9 trans in it, so at 8k rpm I'm at the rev limiter going thru the traps

our stock block q16 car does 11.1 @ 124 on mh drag radial and the other one did 11.4 @ 120 on street tires with meth.
the 11.1 car has 500 whp on dynojet and the 11.4 car which seems similar to yours has 450 whp

Nice. Good to see I'm right where I should be with my HP and ET/trap speeds. I'm thinking I can push this engine a little harder and still be safe, I may try to hit a 10.99 before I get a bottom end built. What kind of timing are you seeing at redline on the meth car? My peak torque timing is 4*, redline is 12-13*

ours is seeing 14 up top but on q16 and around 32 psi i think at peak tq its also around 4 to 5 degrees
tq is arouns the 380 range
i have seen tuners push 17-18 on race gas but this one is conservative

I finally made it to the track last night, and it was one of the best nights I've had going down the strip in a long time. Car ran great, got 3 runs in, all over 120 mph traps. 11.56, 11.41 and 11.43 with 1.68 to 1.69 60 ft on all of them. Car feels super consistent.
Kudos mate, you've got a nice ride there. I didn't see any lag watching you eating up the 1/4 lol.

Nice work. Appreciate all the details you included - dyno vids, highway pulls, drag video. Not sure what to attribute it to since SS housings are considered more laggy vs MHI , and JB has slower transient response vs BB - but your car has excellent response between gear shifts. Maybe you shift real well, maybe the clutch is appropriately matched to the setup, maybe the overall combo just works well together, but from the sound of the videos, you have better transient boost response than I do with my 73hta MHI JB green. I likely shift slower and my clutch is, I'm ashamed to admit, stock, but this laggy JB SS black put my zippy MHI green to shame in terms of responsiveness between shifts.
Again, nice work - you've given me some motivation to get my car up to standard. There's a number of areas I know need work, but its good to see a setup that should be more "sluggish" than mine running so well when the correct setup is achieved.
...after watching the video a few more times, I think much of the credit goes to your shifting. But still, nicely setup car

Power on the MD seems right in line with the trap speeds.
What's that one clown hating for? This power is wicked fun. Not the fastest thing ever but it's the line where power, reliability and daily driven manners all line up perfectly. I have friends with 800+ whp fully built cars on E85 that tell me 400-600 is where these cars are the most enjoyable especially if you wanna have any sort of fun with it on the street.

In the few years ive been on here, this thread has really made me think, i was planning on an fp red to bring my car up from stock on pump as i cant get e85 but now i think the black might be on the list, i wonder how it would go on a race track

To answer your question, my shifting is mostly attibuted to tephra no lift. In terms of no lift it is a little on the slow side of shifting, but if you watch the gauge I hold 19-20 psi between shifts, which definitely helps. I have tried lift shifting a few times and it loses almost all its spool, so the no lift feature is definitely helping.
I am currently up to my neck in New parts so we will see how next year goes with a SD conversion and hopefully an ECU boost tune!
