Mhi is the style of turbo it is. So Mhi is twin scroll and mounts up to stock 02 housing and has a internal waste gate. Its basically a mitsubishi turbo.

On the other hand you have a fp SS stainless steel.
V band o2 housing. External vband wastegate. Single scroll.

The mhi housings are not being made no longer. So you either buy used or send in your evo 9 turbo to fp and they can make it green.red.black. "mhi"

7163 won't make 500whp on pump gas. Not safely anyways. https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...hread-293.html

Isn't it implied? I bet a stock turbo on race fuel and meth 'could' hit 500whp.

Wasn't stated nor implied, no sir. Not sure I've ever seen a stock turbo do 500whp, though.

Tuned to the within an inch of the car's life. As much power as you can squeeze out, with little room for error or concern for longevity.

Oh. I operate in "relax mode" then. Even that scares the crap out of me at WOT. (you can tell I drive my car only a few hundred miles a year)

I'm with you. 25psi on any turbo I run. Conservative timing. I like to beat on my cars. LOL
It pretty much only sees track and AutoX, so not worried about it being faster around town.

A kill mode Red is a 600+whp turbo.

An HTZ green should be able to make 500whp on E85 no problemo.

Ahyone recommended a non-MHI turbo for 500whp is suggesting you spend more money than you need to.

You could get a 7163 with twin scroll and push it, but that's a $5,000 set up with manifold and all the extra bits.

Don't forget, Blouch makes turbos as well that use the MHI housing.

A 600whp BB red MHI isn't on full kill ..maybe 3/4 A good running built engine can make that around 30-32psi with e85 when the combination and tuning are good. I pulled it off with the ole HTA red MHI. HTZ should be easier. A number of people have run 40psi plus with the BB stuff but that can tax them over time.

ER did it back it the day. Let's just then build was "excessive" to do it. Basically had a 1000hp setup with a stock turbo bolted to it.
