Hp is kinda worthless your going to be worried about the TQ. Typically what causes **** in the t-case to go bad. Also don't launch or beat on it and your good. I made over 900 on stock t-case with a super 99 almost 3 years ago and friend just made 1077 on his super 99. Shortly after I sent my case to shep as did my friend. Both running 2.3's for the record as well.

Granted I would not go over 400-450 tq because at that point its only a matter of time

Sorry for the thread derail OP.
What sort of timing are you running? Evo 8 or 9?

It's an Evo 8. Car was tuned by English Racing, not going to share what Aaron uses for timing.

And thanks. English Racing did a great job on the motor and tune. The owner is super happy with it.
Would you recommend the 2.4? Once my built 2.0 dies, Im considering a rev monster 2.1 or a ER 2.2. I was concerned about the head gasket sealing issues with the 2.4. Just curious on your thoughts.

What do you plan on doing with the car? Engine displacements and configurations all have pro’s and con’s depending on usage. People will have different opinions on which is better and that is typically due to application. I am currently using a 2.2 4g63 setup and I’m happy with it. I get the benefits of the added displacement when I’m cruising around at lower engine speed and I can also carry the rpm’s a little further at the track. I have my rev limiter set at 9600 on my 2.2 and the ONLY reason it is that high is because of the power my car is putting down and the gear limitations in 4th when crossing the line at the track.
All the motor configurations you have mentioned have proven to make power time and time again. Decide what you ultimately want to do with the car as a starting point. If you are set on a particular block displacement, I’m sure many people will chime in on pro’s and con’s, including myself.

If you want a gnarly torque monster street car, the 2.4 is where it's at. However, it's limited to 8k rpm due to the stroke. So you need to put a 4.11 final drive in the trans so it can do 140 in 4th, and calm the torque down some.

If you want to give up some torque and rev higher, an ER 2.2SLR is theee engine to have. Will rev to 9500 no issue, so no need for taller final drive.

listen to letsgethisdone he might be a know it all at time and reply to everything but he knows what hes talking about

TS .84 AR you are choking your build might as well go for a smaller turbo 6062 or 6266

2.3 are terrible engines for high power build

I would keep a 2.3 under 800 whp and ideally I would only use that build for 700 to 750 max. Also I wouldnt worry about whp.

4g64 build with LR for high hp build stroker are better engines.

Running a 2.3/6466 and haven't had any issues.
2.4 are prone to HG failure when you start giving it lots of boost.

Although I am definitely going 2.2 153mm on my next build.
