i simpley cannot understand how the belt spacing could ever change between the cam gears with out changing the size and tooth spacing/size of the belt and cam gears.
nothing has changed between the two, same gear size and same belt

What's told here in the forum, it's the 6mm taller 4g64 block changing the belt spacing.

That's why you should always degree the cams and you do it before the engine goes into the car.

Your wannabe tooner isn't going to get it right for you on the dyno.

Even with an aftermarket ecu where you will be able to dial in the cams better your exactly right.

Idk why your telling him to go kick rocks hes right. "Drop in" cams aren't exactly drop ins. If you have the engine out of the car you should always degree them to what the cam card says just so you can get max performance out of them. If you don't believe me ask any real engine builder.

It has to do with the deck height of the 2.4 block being taller as stated before. Being taller it will move your centerlines being the belt isn't made for that deck height. Why i used a 2.4 belt on my build, fits perfectly with no adjustments to the cam gears what so ever.
