It would be great to get some more info on this JohnBradley.
Do you not recommend the T4 IWG housing because of the top end restriction?

AYC DIFF will be quiet happy with more than your EFR7163 can dish out.

The AYC diff is under clout of something, but many in AUS, NZ, and Japan, race with it.
Fact is as far as technology goes, AYC rules.
Sadly, Mitsu made the housing a big weak but that did not stop many from running a whole lot of power through it.

So, before assuming anything, try it.

AYC may not be best answer for drag car, but for road racing car/road performance car, its blessing, - treat it nice and it may just simply blow your mind.
If you rn 7163 on E85 you still may not approach its limits. On pump, you are not at its limits whatsoever.

AYC is great on a street car, but they are certainly not strong (It's not just the housing) and don't last long on circuit cars with power above 400.
Many people in Aus do Race with them and many people need to replace broken ones as well.

I've been racing with it for many years, but I know it's not going to last forever. It's getting on now as well being 17 years old.

I'm hoping to get this season out of it and will change to something else next year. I missed all of last year due to blowing an engine which also took out the transfer. Hopefully I can get through this season with minimal issues

Hope to see you on dual port Turbosmart and upgraded BOV, and a tune to push the 7163 closer to redline (closer to 150K RPM).

I think you'll be pleased.
And if your AYC is good after 17 years, perhaps a service/rebuild will keep it going much longer.
You can swap in Evo X AYC diff, need to do a strange left-CV adaption: use X CV flange half to Diff, and E4-9 CV half on the shaft. It's been done, so its an option.

I've noticed the S-AYC in my Evo 10 doing some strange things on track now with approx 520whp, but only if the car was getting out of shape already. Never if I keep it smooth.

On the street I haven't noticed anything weird at 640whp/420wtq yet but I don't drive around in race car mode mentally on the street.
