UMS Tuning 1195whp/848wtq 1/2 mile Evo VIII

Writing this post as I am good friends with all the people at UMS Tuning in Mesa, AZ including the owner/tuner Tony Szirka. One of his customers is shooting for a 1/2 record in his Evo VIII and he's really going for broke. The car was tuned on his Dynapack; just for clarifiction his Dynapack has the most recent software update and reads within 1% of our local Dynojet. At 55psi of boost the car made 1195whp and 848wtq on Ignite E98. The car is also equipped with a 150 shot of nitrous...just in case the 1195 can't get the record. The car has not made a dyno pull with the nitrous as far as I know; the 1195/848 was done with just boost. Car is tuned using AEM's Infinity ECU.

I am working on getting more of the details but right now this is what I know: 4G64 sleeved block, 85mm bore, 94mm stroke, PTE 7675 gen2 cea sportsman divided with a 1.19 a/r housing, GSC S3 cams, 4x ID 2000 injectors, and 4x ID1700 injectors. The motor was built by Steven Reedholm at UMS Tuning and the car was tuned by Tony Szirka of UMS Tuning in Mesa, AZ. Teague Racing LLC in Phoenix, AZ is responsible for the machine work. Car is all ready to go for some 1/2 mile events coming up soon. Let's see if it can take the record.

Darton makes sleeves for motors that are going all out. It doesn't make sense in most applications but with this much power why not.

Update on this car. The driver took it easy on the first couple passes out by only running 45psi; not sure what the exact power level is at 45 psi but I'd guess it's around 1000whp. Driver wanted to get used to the new power. The car did 192mph in the 1/2 mile. The following pass the driver upped the boost to the full 55psi at which point disaster happened (no fault of the car). The driver was really shifting the dog box hard. shifted 1-2, 2-3, then 3 back to 2 (OUCH!!!!). Dash cam video showed the rpm's jumped up to 12,142 rpm. Car was limped into the pits at this point. Next pass out the driver decided to send it and was going to run the full 55psi with the nitrous (Tony at UMS advised against doing this). Car went from 1-2, 2-3, then once it was loaded in 3rd the motor sent a rod through the sleeve and the block. Sad day for this car/build. Car is back at UMS and another motor is already in the works. Until the next 1/2 mile event.
