Personally with you being a standard 2.0 though I would just leave the stock final drive and do an ultimate ratio trans. The 4.11 final drive in my opinion is better suited for stroker motors than 2.0s.
I wouldn't make a blanket statement that the 4.11 is only for strokers. Once you're making over 600wtq or 750-800whp, the engine has enough grunt for it. He's just about there.

What's the strength of 1st gear with 4.1:1 FD? Will it survive long with 600wtq launches?

It still the stock 1st gear. The final drive is only the output shaft and ring gear. Like the rest of the drivetrain at that level, it'll have a service life..

if the transmission is in good condition then it’s really about the last thing to worry about. Stock gears have been used in cars over 1000hp without issues. Transfer case, axles, and torque tube will break before the transmission goes out. This car was 750hp and grenaded the torque tube taking out the transmission and transfer case.

Quick question - is 16* timing considered aggressive for a built motor?
16* sounds about right for 8000rpm 38 psi. With flat top pistons it could be a little aggressive. I’m assuming your running E85 correct?

I would be more concerned with the timing around 5500~6000 rpm, that’s where most timers have it cranked up too high.

What was blanket about it? It was my opinion.

After my track day a couple weekends ago, I noticed a tick coming from the head. Hoping it’s just a lifter that went bad. So ordered a few things since Black Friday specials are going on and will probably have to check the head out anyways.

GSC S3 Billet Cams
Skunk 2 Intake manifold
s90 Billet 70mm throttle body
gsc zero tick lifters
new valve seals gsc heavy duty

going to send the head to Buschur along with the intake manifold and have them hand port them. Then we’re going to make some jam.

Last track day for those curious.

Car went 10.16 @ 149.4 mph

Should have done a Magnus V5 instead of the skunk.

And for head porting, Buschur doesn't really do a whole lot. If you haven't sent it out yet, consider changing direction there and getting a race port from head games.

Nice work!
4 piston racing does an excellent head port also, check them out.

I second that. The 7 second Procco Evo uses a 4Piston head.

Also, it looks like 4Piston is still giving $400 off Evo 8/9/10 heads from their BF sale.

So dropped the car off yesterday. Instead of wasting time with a simple hand port, I’m going to save for a headgames or 4P head. So going to have the new manifold, s3 cams, new lifters installed and see how it does.

Should have it back in a week!
