Turbolab of America Stock frame 35R vs Stock turbo 93oct results

I figured you guys would be interested in seeing data from this customers car I recently completed.

The vehicle is from Alabama, and is running Shell 93oct fuel.

Information about the car is as follows:

Car: Evo 8 GSR
Fuel: 93 octane Fuel (Shell)
Loc/Temp: Alabama / 40-50F average

Mods:

Stock block and head
Stock Intake manifold, Throttle body
FIC 950cc injectors
turbolab of america Ported Stock frame 35R (comparable to EF4) /w 18PSI Turbosmart WGA
Map H11 headstuds
Map tubular exhaust manifold
Map beehive valve springs
GSC S2 cams
Muse upper piping
Muse lower piping
Muse o2 dump
Buschur Deluxe FMIC
Walbro 255
Grimmspeed 3 port
4" SD intake
Tephra v7 SD /w ecuboost

Full specs on the turbo is as follows:

60x83mm Compressor Wheel with a clipped TD06H4 turbine wheel

First is final results of the turbo after the tune was completed:

Next is the turbo at three different boost levels:

Finally, Here is the turbo vs a Stock Evo 9 turbo:

Notes: Car was on a MAF, FP intake + perrin filter, mbc, and stock injectors on the Stock turbo setup. Do not take this as a back to back legit comparison. It is mearly just an example to show the different characteristics between the two turbos in 3rd gear.

Side note: There may have been a little more power left, but we both agreed to leave it. We stopped before we reached any kind of detonation / knock feedback, so in that sense this is a semi conservative tune.

Great results. I really like the comparison at the different boost levels. Shows the efficiency of the turbo between 25 to 30psi. Seems a bit lean uptop for 93?

I don't know where to begin, Tom is such a great guy.. I love working with him, he is defintly the best tuner hands down!!!! The car is a completely different animal, it pulls so hard.. I love the big turbo power band and the top end pull!! I SUGGEST EVERYONE TO GET A TSCOMPUSA TUNE!! Best tuner for sure!!!

Thanks Josh.

AFR averages around 11.5-11.8. There's enough timing there, so the leaner afr is not of concern.

This car has leaking throttle body shaft seals, so once that's fixed if we see any changes in the tune ill update the thread for those interested.

That said, the results may not change even after the shaft seals are fixed. It all depends on how bad they are leaking.

AWD96, ill let Josh answer that. It should be the same reliability as a stock turbo though.

After he fixed the boost leak (throttle body shaft seals) here are the new results.

The quality of this turbo is awesome, it comes with a 2 year 15,000 mile warranty, its got upgraded thrust bearing and oil ports..The sound of thisthing spooling between 2-6psi is wicked sounding.. I've had it on the car for 300miles..and more than 12 third gear pulls..I absolutely love the power band
