Curt Brown 2.15L / S362 SX-E (68mm) / EVO IX / Pump Gas

Short Block & Head built by Curt Brown - Assembled by me
4g63 Block
94mm Eagle Crank (2037005900B7)
JE Asymmetrical Forged Pistons (297479)
Eagle Extreme Connecting Rods (CRS5900MBXD)
CB Ported Head
Kiggly Springs
R2 cams
CB Extreme Port Intake manifold with FB 70mm TB

Fuel
Squash Double Pumper (dual 485s)
ID1650
Shell 93 octane

Turbo/Exhaust
DIY smaller runner (1.25" Schedule 10) kind of equal length manifold
Dual Tial 38mm recirculated into downpipe
S362 SX-E with 68mm turbine wheel
1.0 a/r T4 TS turbine housing
TurboSmart Oil Pressure limiter
3" downpipe (just the 90deg off the turbo) to 3.5" exhaust
3.5" 100cell high flow CAT
3.5" Varex Muffler (valve open)

Thanks to Curt for the killer engine
Thanks to Walker @ MPFab for the killer merge collector and guidance
I would like to thank myself for the fabrication

You can reference my build at the link below...
BW S362 SX-E TwinScroll Project

I was able to make two runs and increased timing from run 1 to run 2, but didn't pick up too much power so I saved the 3rd run for seeing how much power the VAREX muffler made with the valve closed.

Here is the result of the second pass on the dyno and all runs were done in 3rd gear.

Here is the log from the dyno run above

With this larger turbine wheel the dyno does not generate as much load as with the car on the street so I was seeing a 200rpm increase in lag vs what i always see on the street. Below is a generic log of a street pass (red) vs the dyno pass (blue) from a spool perspective.

I saved the 3rd pass to close the valve on the VAREX muffler to see how much power it would make. Below is the dyno graph comparison as well as the boost log comparison for Run 2 vs Run 3. I did not change any setting and the reduction in boost is caused by the exhaust being so restrictive. I cut it off at ~6000rpm because no point in going further with the run since I only wanted to get a feel for how much it killed power.

Finally, here are the videos of Run 2 vs Run 3, which is Varex Muffler Open vs Closed. Like I said in my build thread, car sounds like a prop plane.

Thanks! Curt said he has builds requested, but I apparently got the last Eagle 93mm crank and they have been on back order since It is definitely fun to drive and it pulls hard, but 600hp@wheels in an EVO jamming gears is pretty obnoxious on the street. My GTR makes 706@wheels on 93pump, but feels much more tame in comparison.

Correct, the cranks are currently unobtanium lol. Mine is supposed to arrive on in the next week or so but we'll see. I just had CB do my top end as well and I am looking forward to getting mine together after seeing this and your sxe build post. I would like to do a BW down the road but for now it will be a ported FP manifold and a 25g from Turbo Lab I got a good deal on. I also plan on running the R2 camshafts. Biggest thing I'll be doing different is running a 153mm rod. Are you still stock final drive? Thanks for taking time to post all this build in detail. Much appreciated.

I have not seen a 25G make good power yet... so far, they make about same power as 20G & hta71 with more lag. They are bigger than FP Red but doesn't even come close in performance.

If you are getting a great deal on it and tune it cheap, try it out. But I have not seen any make 600whp. I always see it struggle after hitting 500whp. Maybe they found the problem with 25G and fixed it? Keep us posted.

Will do, Looks like "we gon learn today". I'm curious to find out, I'm new to Evo builds and the 4g63 platform. My LS1 stuff seems to be cheaper lol.

So bad ***, Kasey is the man! If I still lived in NC, I'd have him tune my car!

You're not kidding about the car sounding like a jet haha that's the best part

Car is tuned by me on the street. The build is not affiliated with that shop and i only use the dyno. He does seem very busy with EVOs though and has a sweet ~800hp drag EVO.

Great pump gas numbers and project. Any plans to tune this setup on race gas or mild E-mix to see where the turbo will go to ?

The 1.25" runners really help wake turbos with a large turbine wheel and housing combo (like Holset and BW) up. I've used the same on all my Holset setups and get GT/PTE type response from them on most applications.

I plan to run it at Zmax next month and will add 109U, but only for safety and won’t touch the tune. No real interest to push the setup any further because it’s my DD.

ExtremePSI shows the crank in stock. Callies also makes an acceptable alternative.

I'm in the same boat (probably literally since they come from China). Very similar shortblock build to OP but the crank is still MIA. It was supposed to arrive April 29th. I'm planning for a backup option. But there aren't many companies left that still make 94mm cranks.
