Mike Reichen's EVO 2 puts down 1127 AWHP!
Mike Reichen threw an off the shelf 80mm Borg Warner T4 on his EVO 2 and took it over to the dyno on Monday. The first run of 1059 awhp on the sheet was at 45 psi, but the dyno operator forgot to turn on the water pump for the air to water intercooler. The second run of 1127 was at 46 psi with the ic water pump turned on. Then on the final run the boost was turned up to 48 psi and it made 1121 awhp way before the horsepower peak. The damm cam angle sensor broke just before it was about to get into the “business” of making some serious power. It looked like it was on target for 1200 awhp. He will head back to the dyno next week with a new cam angle sensor and a few more turns on the boost controller. I’ll let him fill in the other details.

AWESOME...congrats to Mike. I wonder how it was following his projected power vs IDCs.

Pics now!!!! :)

Man, Mike is just laying the smack down. Sick.
|
Big power!
|
I can't imagine shifting almost 1200 hp at 10,500rpm .... just wow..

What shops dyno?
|
is he going to try to break 247 mph?
|
No video? Is this geared for top speed runs or is it a drag car?
|
This is the same EVO 2 that holds the world record for World's fastest EVO with a 237.6 MPH standing mile pass.
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...d-237-mph.html http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1-jdEj5eMcM It also recently ran at the strip on true street tires which it uses for the standing mile. It went 9.3 @ 166 mph at 38 psi. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xA4CdDfRJqY He is going to the Shootout on a 24.5" slick as well. At 850 awhp it went 8.9 @158 mph on slicks back in 2007. It will be interesting to see what it can do with over 1100 awhp. |

It's an AWD Dyno Jet. P&L's dyno is rented out, Mike Reichen tunes himself, and the car is wrenched on by Douglas Autoworks. |
That is crazy for a four cylinder! That must be a big turbo!

It crosses the traps in the 1/4 at around 9,700 rpm in 4th and will sit between 9,500 rpm and 10,500 rpm in 5th at the standing mile. So in other words it's geared for both drag and top speed. |

Nice stuff! Damn CAS :(
Records should fall again and the shootout sounds like it will have a bunch of awesome cars out this year once again! |
