Andrew's Evo IX RS

Andrew is one of our local Navy guys that comes in and works part time for right now while he is still in. His car has been continuously improving over the last few months he has been hanging out. Originally it was a pump/meth car but was switched to E85 when they started offering it on base. We converted the car to SD and made 435whp on stock cams. Him and I have a soft spot for antilag so we have been spending alot of time as of late making it work on the stock ECU. We took different paths to get to the same place, I use a throttle kicker and he is using the actual JDM antilag hardware that we were able to purchase off DaveK earlier last year.

Mods that matter-

GSC S2s
FIC 1450s
Omnipower 4 bar
Stock Intake
JDM antilag on stock USDM Rom
SD tune
MA O2 dump
ER testpipe boost cutout
64mm Red
Andrew's map switching hardware
Single 255, modded

Here is what it all looks like in action-

How does map switching work on stock ecu? Multiple maps on a laptop connected to the ecu?

JohnBradley Feb 15, 2011 11:29 AM

His is using the hardwired switch to go between maps. Its a controller of his own design, not the Jack of Trades one nor the TPS switch. We'll be offering it as a product before too long :)

Forgot to mention that the boost cut out has a 7psi spring in it so the antilag is making enough boost on a closed throttle plate to force its way in and open it up still. Awesome :)

That's sick, good power makes me want to do the switch to e-85

That would be nice to have if I ever get E85 close to where I live, and swap between a pump gas and E85 maps. {thumbup}

Timing dip was me keeping the timing a little too low on the torque control. It would have taken the 1* like a champ I believe looking back. One thing that is interesting is how the power drops after 6600 like it does. I really think this is the zone where the intake manifold makes or breaks the combo.

I want!!

Sweet. I really like the cutout.

tscompusa2 Feb 16, 2011 04:34 AM

sounds wicked.

Turbojunkie Feb 16, 2011 05:54 AM

Very nice power. i assume ( we all know what that means :D) you kept the TRQ low due the stock motor? I think with a open dump trq would hit harder.

TJPhillips36 Feb 16, 2011 06:40 AM

Stock catback? Either way, nice power.

XSivPSI Feb 16, 2011 07:57 AM

AWESOME!

More info on the antilag setup?

JohnBradley Feb 16, 2011 10:06 AM

It is a stock cat back and we rely on the boost cutout to make the power.

Billy, torque is low since its a stock motor, we are going to do a drop in a few months. It has an open dump on the turbo as well so it was a challenge to keep the torque under control.

Antilag is all stock JDM pieces and Andrew and my ECU alterations.

Fast_Freddie Feb 18, 2011 01:59 PM

He has always wanted anti-lag since we got to see this first hand in Dubai a few years ago on Ryan's car... coincidentally a white RS as well... Congrats guys!

Was this with a Manual boost controlled or Electronic?

Nice power for that setup.
