evo 9 with BBK Full @ 30psi on 93oct

Finished this car last night. Its the first BBK full car ive done, and the turbo is better then i expected on 93oct.

We are still going to do some things with the car (swapping boost controller) to test some stuff, but here are the results on straight 93oct no meth no nothing and 75F heat with high humidity in TN.

Mods:
CBRD BBK Full ported
CBRD FMIC (3.8" garrett core)
1000cc inj
walbro 255
GSC s1
JM fab exhaust manifold
ETS ic piping
Perrin intake
Invidia o2
Invidia testpipe + dp
Apexi testpipe back
Synapse DV
spoolinup cop
Map rev3
Full blown cast 70mm Throttle Body
Grimmspeed & 4bar

Going to swap the GS out for a MBC to test the differences on this car.. for now the car is set to taper boost like a mbc at higher rpm to keep heat down & detonation away & keep the turbo happy. I am just personally interested in seeing what I can get more downlow with a mbc vs the ecu boost and am not charging the customer more $ to do the testing.

E85 to follow & more testing.

AEM TruBoost 93oct: (after 20 pulls of the owner configuring the truboost in car.. no timing or afr adjustments all boost related gains/losses)

Not bad why no af readings?

Wow, boost does not drop much with this turbo! Glad to know my turbo has all this potential down the road for me. Does he have ARP head studs? I'm very curious what you do to improve low end as well. I have an 8, so I don't have the luxury of utilizing Mivec to improve things down low.

i feel theres no need to show that data. the boost curve is what i feel should be shown if possible at all times to show the true output of the vehicles performance.

it has a fp 25psi wga. yes the car has arp headstuds. mivec definitely helps. we are testing different boost controllers on the car to test low end etc..

hes actually out testing a AEM tru-boost on it right now.

Let me add though.. if you upgrade to a bigger WGA, you must carefully use it and stay within the turbo manufacturers recommendations for setting boost levels, because if you dont, you risk damage to the turbo
itself by creating excessive heat, overspinning shaft, etc.. this is why you see i have manipulated a MBC curve with the ecu boost on this specific turbo.. because Chad told my customer what boost levels
the turbo could safely do and what it couldnt do.. so we are staying within those limits.

The stock WGA was probably plenty enough, but it never hurts to get a wga closer to the target boost level you choose to run.. it just makes the boost controller have to work less harder is all

Great results i'm thinking about going the same route!

WOW Baller mod list for bolt-ons , This customer made some very good choices .
TSC Spool seems a little slower , (not much) then other bbk cars , Im curious if the MBC will make a difference.

No matter great power on a snappy turbo and stock block.

Wow, I love the curve and the numbers are definitely baller status on 93 octane... that is more boost than I would feel comfortable running on pump gas, but good job regardless.

looks good!

there is no way you should see improvements with an MBC over a 3 port-

unless you arent running it in 3 port interrupt configuration!

I run alot of cars at 30psi (ive even run 40 on a 35R LOL) on pump gas... and we've never had an engine related failure to date ;)

It all comes down to the tune and supporting mods-

people underestimate what a good FMIC does to help with this-

also-

Tcomp- what is your WGDC to reach 30psi peak? if there are no boost leaks- with the grimmspeed you should be around 72-75% on most cars-

also-

as for the comments on the proper bolt ons-

this client allowed us to pick his products for his build-

hence the fmic, manifold, perrin intake, cam choice- etc

Great numbers! I wonder what a set of GSC S2's would do to help the top end. Maybe get him to 500?

I was thinking this also. Since he already has S1 cams, 500 would be a bit much of a jump in power. I would guess around 485whp though. But then he would need springs & retainers...

Nice part selection for the customer, Chad!

And nice job with the tune Tom! This car is a beast. So according to your graph the Full is seeing 30psi by about 4250 and it drops to 26psi by 7500, correct? I am interseted in seeing the results with a MBC on the car.
