Evo IX MR stock block/turbo/cams E85

For those of you that like to see stock turbo results, here's one with basic bolt ons and e85 fuel.

The cars still on a single walbro 255 not modified, so we are out of fuel right now according to the injector duty cycle in evoscan.

Andrew is going to modify the walbro and then do another pull, and once we confirm the fuel is there i will add more boost and richen it up more and see how much more we can push it and share results.

Temp is 45F in AZ, and fuel is E85
Boost pressure roughly peaking at 29psi

Stock IX turbo /w FP 25psi WGA
Full 3” tbe catless
STM SD intake pipe /w K&N filter
ETS Intercooler piping
ETS 3.5" FMIC
FIC 1050cc
Walbro 255
Tial Q BOV
Grimmspeed 3port
Tephra v7 SD /w ecu boost

AFR curve is a little rough looking, but I will clean that up once the pump is modified.

Which ix turbo? The 20g or the 16 with the larger hotside? I've been debating on picking one up

Its just a regular evo 9 MR turbo, so it would be a 16G with a 10.5 housing and the larger compressor cover.

I will post the other car I worked on that is a 20G also with a conservative tune.

Here is the first step to getting the fuel under control in this car. This is why I wanted to share this car in particular.

Most of you guys already know I shared other cars like this before, and show the before & after of what happens when you modify the relief valve of the walbro, but heres another car thats a very good example.

This car was 100% IDC and close to being out of fuel. I told the customer to push in his relief valve (not disabling it by pushing it all the way in), and here is the outcome.

The IDC stayed the same, but the car went so much richer! Now I will make adjustments and post back final results of the car completed.

The main enemy with a Walbro 255 is fuel pressure. read this thread to learn more: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/e8...ts-inside.html

Here is the results of this car with the tune untouched. All we did was slightly push in the relief valve:

For a simple free mod you have to love that! I will post back once we finalize this car now that we have fuel to work with.

Nice. Once you dial the Afr back in it's gonna make more power with less idc!

Still working on it, but it is much better. However im not leaving the torque this high, so we will drop boost across the board and make it a little more conservative. (Unless the owner refuses to allow me to lower the torque. It is his car, so he is the boss.)

Here is the IDC for anyone interested as well. It went from 105% before to now low 90% :)

Still more fuel to lean out, so that will drop a little more yet.

Boost pressure peaked at 31.2psi @ 4969 RPM where max torque was acquired.

Nicee. Thanks for posting. Its nice to see what results I can expect once I finish my cams this week and retune. Only thing different is I'm not on SD and I have a 4'' FMIC.

No problem.

The final results of this car after we dialed it back a little bit and got the afr curve stable is below.

Next I will share the 91oct results.
