Evo IX - Stock block / STM FF Manifold / Turbonetics 6165 / GSC S2 / E85

Tuned Tyler's stock block evo tonight. There was a lot more in this car, but fueling wise it doesn't have the support to provide the power, and we wanted to keep the torque as safe as possible but still optimize peak hp uptop.

Injectors peaked at 97% duty cycle at very high RPM in 4th gear, and around 95% in 3rd gear. I dialed it down a little for the final tune for him until he modifies his fuel pump if he chooses to go back to the high power rom. Final duty cycle ended up being about 92% with around 527whp / 384wtq.

He has both roms though, so he can switch when he feels like it.

The mod list consists of:

Stock block /w 80K
act clutch
GSC S2 billet cams
arp headstuds,
tial q bov
3.5 in intercooler
FIC Bluemax 1450cc injectors
walbro 450 fuel pump
STM forward facing manifold /w hood dump
turbonetics 6165 turbo / Billet wheel
precision wastegate 15lb spring
3in turbo back
Grimmspeed 3 port
Tephra v7 Speed density /w ecuboost

There's something don't see every day.. a turbonetics turbo on an evo lol.
Nice results! Curious on what it can do on a built bottom...

Ya I was surprised when I read the turbo it was using.

I tuned another stock block while I was tuning him also, and we made 525whp. So two stock blocks over 500 at the same time. :)

I would of taken this one higher, but it ran out of fuel.

Do you really think this stock block will last (30k+ miles of moderately aggressive driving) at over 500whp?

No one knows the answer to that question, only the engine. I have put stock blocks over 700WHP and they survived to see aftermarket internals in the same block & same crank being used after 100's of passes at high power levels.

stock rods begin to bend around 450-480wtq.

I'm taking the car to the track tomorrow night. So I will update with some 1/4 mile times tomorrow.

Awesome! Two TSCOMPTUNED 500+ whp stock block cars within the same week! haha.

Just curious because i have this issue at the track, I cant finish in 4th with the stock IX trans... on stock turbo revving to 7500 it would top out at like 113-114 in 4th gear. now that im reving it higher with the 6266 im sure i could take it well over 120. Are you still on stock trans? Do you plan on shifting into 5th?

Our setups our kinda similar also! I was reading your thread about the problems with the 450. I was having the same problems also before I got tuned. My pump isnt rewired yet might do that today.

Yeah im on the stock trans stillI. I never ran the car at the track so I don't know how it's gonna do. I'm hoping I don't have to shift to 5th The extra 500 rpms might be enough to get across the line in 4th.

What do you plan on revving it to? according to Jacks transmissions website, at 8000 rpm we are at 122 mph. thats assuming stock tire size.. i dont see how all these other cars are able to finish in 4th unless they have like evo8 gearing or a 4.11 FD or something. haha
