Evo IX RS - Stock block / Stock cams / 6266 / E85 @ 32.7psi | 10.76 @ 136.17

I have retuned Morgan's Evo IX RS. Originally we had a fuel pump issue not allowing us to get past 525, but he had since fixed that, and now the car has plenty of fuel after fixing torn orings and hard wiring the fuel pump.

This car as the title states, is a stock long block. Stock cams, stock head/bottom end. Nothing is touched except for ARP head studs.

What is really impressive to me is, this cars from Arizona, and it was 100F+ when we were tuning this at night (11pm~). For every 1F its roughly 1WHP, so put this car into the 60F, and you have yourself a pretty powerful stock block and cams machine.

Strategy was simple for this car. My goal was to keep torque as low as possible, keep EGT cool, and use torque manipulation with boost and AFR. There is more in this car with more boost, but we felt this is good, and there's no need to push your luck on a 98K bottom end. A lot can happen in 98K, so even this is a lot of power for that high of mileage on factory internals.

Mods are:

Stock longblock (98K original miles)
JDL T3 kit with PTE6266 JB 0.82 A/R hotside
FIC 1450cc injectors (93% IDC / 11.3-11.4 afr)
Walbro 450 /w rewire
Grimmspeed 3 port
Muse IC piping
Buschur FMIC
Synapse BOV
ARP standard head studs
Extremepsi 4" SD intake
3" TBE
Tephra v7 speed density /w ecuboost

Below is the graph in 3rd and 4th gear.

Car feels awesome. Not only does the car pull amazingly, but it takes off really nice and drives really smooth. Thanks again Tom!!

Im looking forward to some track ET's / Trap Speeds once i get a new clutch and an Evo 8 3rd-4th gear.

Few pics of the car in case anyone wants to see! Not too bad for an Evo nearing 100K miles lol.

Glad you are happy Morgan! Car looks great for 100K miles and especially red color. It must be well kept in garage etc most its life. I know some red 40K miles that aren't as good looking exterior.

Put some wd40 or similar on the Mitsubishi emblem where you see white fading to get the white fully off.

And I see that big red rewire line haha. Thanks to that line we were able to make a lot more power! :)

I hope it gives you a long healthy life. When you're ready to build it let me know id love to have my engine in it!

For sure! Definitely planning on a 2.0 LR in the future once my stock motors time is done haha. And yeah, for anyone reading this, a subwoofer 8 gauge wiring kit works great for fuel pump rewires as well {thumbup}

Took the car to MOD 2015 in Cypress CA over the weekend. Drove it all the way from AZ and back with no issues which turned into an 1100 mile trip. Been beating on the car quite a bit since the tune and been running awesome. Finally hit that 100k mile mark!
Might do cams/valve springs when the weather cools down a bit and push the stock motor a little further, i don't plan on doing a build until the stock motor lets go whenever that will be lol.

Sounds like the cars running great and your having a blast! I'm sure you can push it some more just don't vent the block so you can use it for your core when you do your build.{thumbup}

Yeah for sure. I think it needs cams to really get more power out of it. I'm sure just with cams and getting them dialed in i could gain a decent amount of power.

I'm planning on taking it to the track in a couple weeks in hopes for 130ish mph traps.

Glad to see you are enjoying your setup. I would build the block before pushing further. Just my opinion. With cams it would be a completely different animal 100whp+ gains (same boost & fuel upgrades to support it).

It would be nice to do a 2.0 LR set up with some kelford 280's or GSC S3 cams and see what this turbo can really do! {thumbup}

Do you make passes at the Phoenix drag strip? Think I saw you there about a month ago with a few other evos. I wasn't expecting to see any.
