Hello everyone, this is my first post in the forum and also my first thread. I would like some advice and thoughts about my current build. The build is as follows:
Engine 2.4LR Block Carrilo 156mm H-Beam Rods Wiseco 1400HD 86.5mm Pistons Manley 100mm Billet Crankshaft GSC Race Balance Shaft Fluidampr Crank Pulley ΟΕΜ intake manifold ΟΕΜ throttle body ΟΕΜ manifold Evo 8 turbo with 20G compressor & 10.5 Hotside Forge Evo 9 IWG with 18psi spring Tomei V2 Downpipe De-cat Test Pipe HKS Hi-Power Silent Exhaust Greddy intercooler Mishimoto Intercooler Pipe Kit ARP 2000 Head Studs ARP Main Studs ARP Balancer Bolt Head Mild Intake & Exhaust Porting GSC R2 Cams GSC spring & Retainer Kit GSC Zero Tick Lifters Supertech STD size valves HKS Cam Pulley ER Mivec Gear Mod ARP Cam Tower Bolts ARP Cam Bolts Transmission 5speed trans from Evo 6 - Rebuild with Synchrotech carbon synchros ORC Twin Clutch 4.11 Final Drive ECU Link G4+ Fuel AEM 320 Fuel Pump AMS Fuel Rail ID 1050x injectors 93oct Handling Tein Flex Z Project mu 2 piece SCR-Pro front rotors and HC+ pads with teflon brake lines Wheels OEM for now wearing Continental contact 3. Upgrading to Advan RS 17x8.5 wearing 245/40/17 Michelin Pilot Sport 4. The run was done in 3rd Gear, 93oct pump gas. The boost was 25psi and uptop dropping to 20psi probably due to backpressure issues. I also attach the csv file of the log. Next step after the purchase of Magnus V5 and S90 TB, is the purchase of a T4 1.15a/r 6466 TS with a T4 TS Manifold and twin mvs 38mm wastegates. After these, I will try to hit my goal which is around 600+whp or even 650+ on pump gas. Before you ask me why I use pump gas, E85 is unavailable at my country and race gas is not in my thoughts at the moment as it is a DD. However, here we use 98oct RON pump gas which i think it is a high quality 93pump gas in us Thank you :) https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.evo...f09d6a9b38.jpg |
i notice you had 4.11 final. you did correct your VD data for it .. correct?
|
Needs more wgate preload. tq is delayed badly.
|
why are you not seeing full boost until almost 5k RPM?

Keep in mind that the tuning was done on the street and not on dyno. I do not know if on dyno the tuner can set it up to spool earlier

Something isn't right. A 20g on a 2.4 should see peak boost much, much sooner.

Update.
This weekend I tried to adjust the wastegate preload. the preload was far too stiff. Maybe 6 full turns. I adjusted it to 3 full turns and took it for a road test. It seems that it had slightly better spool but nowhere near from what is supposed to spool. Probably the hotside must have cracks. Here's the new loghttps://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.evo...42f751f3b4.jpg Regards |
If I may make a suggestion if your going new intake mani, look at something with larger runners to let that 2.4 breath. The magnus is a sweet piece but to small for the 2.4. I would suggest the AMS f1 if you could fine one, or a JMF manifold. The larger ports on the runners will help a ton. Plus it will push the rpm band more to the right some which will help your top end. I am planning on running a JMF drag mani on my car. Good luck with the build.

Your spool is bad. My 2.4LR (gsc s3+ magnus V5+fp black mhi housing) hits 300tq sooner than yours. Is your 2.4LR cam timing spot on?
