Car has reached 2 of the goals I set for it with only one left being get a 10 second pass. Nice!!
Looks like you will be smiling often!:D |
Good numbers, but shouldn't it make more power running 39psi on E85? And why it spools better on Pump gas vs E85? Same specs on both dyno runs?
|
I have the same power goals for my car. Nice numbers and glad you were able to complete the setup.

It looks like you're out of fuel past 6k on E85.

Are u safe with the torque on those H beams rods? |

The cheap-o Hbeams are all good to about 550wtq if you're nice to them with timing.

Should be running a strutted style piston for anything over 550whp or so. I personally put them in everything. But if you extrapolate the ~550wtq capacity of those rods to 8500rpm, thats almost 900hp. I'm' not saying I would do that with those rods, but it gives you an idea of what you could probably push them to as long as you control the hit down low.

The Manley H beam rods and similar Chinese forged rods (Eagle and K1 H beams) are capable of handling what most of us will use them for in the first place. To put this into perspective, an FP Black on a 2.3L does not break 540 trq all that often on E85.
I'd say it's a fair guess that most people who own an evo are still on a stock frame turbo on pump gas and spend most of their time below 500 trq, making these rods acceptable. They are much lighter than the gluttonous Manley "turbo tuff" I beams and work fine for the majority of tame to moderate builds. |
