Personally I like them & think they are pretty comfortable. I actually had an NRG CF driver's seat only in my car for around 5 yrs. I left the OEM passenger seat. A year ago I got a great deal on a pair of brand new NRG seats so I couldn't pass it up. So now I have those in there with BR seat lowering brackets & no sliders. They do flex, some people think they flex too much, but it doesn't bother me.

I emailed nrg about a week ago and they confirmed that the carbon fiber and fiberglass versions of their seats weigh the same, 12lb. I have a cf drivers seat, but I may get a fiberglass one for my passenger seat since they're cheaper.

NRG seat, NRG side brackets & BR seat lowering brackets weigh in @ 15 lbs...

I think people have a concern about them breaking in a wreck because they are so flimsy and they aren't FIA approved. I have a set of the NRG fiberglass seats and I plan on doing a seat brace from a harness bar (or cage if I go that route) with them.

My sparco EVO seats are solid. Fia approved. Little heavy though. 18.5 lbs.

I plan to have the car at 2680 this year and still look the same.

I'm going to weigh mine this weekend. There's a stamping plant a mile from my house with a large semi truck scale outside I can drive on when no one is there... LOL.

That's my goals as well. All interior panels and seats but under 2700

I like the price of the NRG seats but I don't intend to cage or harness bar the car and I don't like the idea of not having being FIA approved. I guess I can just wait until I find a good deal on some CF FIA approved Sparco Evos or something else. Or... just take the middle route and get the normal version.

SM for drivetrain states it is pretty much open except for engine swaps.

Doing a 2-piece driveshaft requires removal of a carrier bearing which is 2-3 lbs. Does this removal of the carrier bearing make the 2-piece driveshafts not SM legal?

In SP section15.10.L, radiator is under the drivetrain section and has specific rules about size and capacity. However, does the open drivetrain of SM apply to the cooling system as well? Can any radiators of any capacity be used in SM?

Yeah I mainly do autocross events or 1/4 mile so the NRG seats worked for me, especially for the price I paid! If I did a lot of track events I would have probably ended up with the same FIA approved Sparcos that EvoDan has.

I know the oem seats are 37lbs and the sparco sprint 5 are 18 but what is the weight of the sprint 5 with base and slider?

I think the lightest/cheapest combo is an Ultrasheild Rally Sport aluminum seat solid mounted to your normal Sparco seat bases. Comes in at 15# total, with sliders about 20# total . . .

That's what I ran for autocross for years. Still have them if anyone is interested

i like them but there def not street friendly on your back. well that is my opinion. if i didn't drive my car i would have them for sure. the sparcos i bought are borderline to extreme for street. but i can deal with it. oddly though my G'F loves them. i dont get it

A friend has them in his awd colt, a few years ago I didn't have an issue on the street, this year they beat me to death. I must just be getting fragile in my not so old age.

For you guys buying the nrg seats what are the cost. Just saw a pair FRP with brackets for $380 shipped, is that what these things are really going for? Also are they bolting directly to the jid/buschur seat lowering brackets?
