well, I am pretty sure a fan will help in cooling, cool down laps etc, dudical. One fan may be enough, though. I don't want overheating issues with a manifold and turbo....

Ac system is about 30lbs

If you would like you can take out the dashboard like the photos in this thread and then you can remove the heater core, blower motor, air ducts, etc...

However, if you do this you will also loose heat. If you want to keep the heat, then you are done and there is nothing else to remove.

How do you drain the AC refrigerant out...I don't want to release it to atmosphere esp. my garage - please advise! Thanks!

well i did not do mine in the garage. i pulled it out and did it. its 134A and im told its enviremently safe. so i let it out right there. go slow because if you go fast oil will come splashing out. i put paper towels all over so any oil that came out did not go anywhere. i made a 3 foot long rod with a allen key socket on the end so i can poke the release valve without having to breath it in or freeze my hand off. i also put a towel over the top so it kept everything to a minimum level. trick is. go slow.

once its out it took me 45 min or so to pull the hole system out.. extremely easy

You can take your car to any mechanic or dealer and they should drain it for free as they can reuse it themselves.

I know it sucks.... I ripped out the A/C once on my 190+ WHP daily driven 95 Integra GSR and it SUCKED once NYC hit the summer season. It was a move I regretted, but ohh well, I wanted to gain as much edge as possible over my all motor competitor out of my 1.8L N/A 4-banger....

But for a car like the EVO, a turbo car with lots of power potential, I'd rather find other ways to make power w/o giving up A/C, but thats just me guys, you people do whatever you want with yours

mine is benig built to be a track *****. I have airbag harnesses and all door wiring harnesses, sunroof harnesses, etc removed. So, yeah AC isnt that big a deal. It will have heat for now, but depending on hardcore I become, I may get rid of it next year.

I wish I had money, I would buy an Ariel Atom instead of building an Evo!
