Haha, exactly, you won't be on doing any road course/autox duty with those brakes either!
Hell, if you don't run 9s, throw me the keys! I plan on getting the same clutch as you anyway...
I was 215, dropped to 189 then started lifting again, now back at 200. I'd like to drop 10 more pounds again but now it's tough. I'll cut the wiring! haha
Good luck on the 9's Dan, good luck on the 8's Chris. I'm in search of the 8's too and with a 9.04 being done already every ounce counts! I think with all the changes I'm making it should be a "guarantee to run 8's this year, we will see.

thanks dave. what you, StreetThisEvo, and Joey are doing ''going for 8s'' is one hell of a task. 100% harder then what i am doing and im looking up to you guys because i believe in what you guys are doing. i wish you all the best and even though i am no help if i ever can be you all know i never sleep so PM me any time.
what brand or type of electrical tape are you guys using. i have used black 3M and other black BS brands and after a while they all get gooy and fall apart. what does OEM use. that type seems to hold up until you pull it apart. where can i get the good stuff. i need about 500 feet of it. haha

i will look it up. thank you
on some of the harness i used the heat shrink stuff. it comes out looking supper clean but its just not flexible and seems it may be brittle over time
Does anyone know the exact weight of a stock EVO 8 with no ACD? With sunroof if possible. I have searched and found that it is 3298 with no gas in the tank.
So far to date I have taken out 405.7lbs of weight give or take 1-2lbs. That is before getting coilovers which will be another 20+ lbs.

Techflex is kind of a *****. If you are going to heat shrink the edns, get the adhesive lined heat shrink. Otherwise, the techflex will pull out from the heat shrink tube and fray out. I used it last time on my harness and it didn't hold up well at all. It doesn't protect the wire from liquids at all either.
There area couple other types of sleeving I've come across that I'm debating on trying. The most robust (and expensive) option being PTFE corrugated tube wrapped in braided Nomex.
On any splices, I use open barrel splices, liquid electrical tape then cover with 1-1/2" tape folded over onto its self, then spiral wrapped with 3/4" tape. This is how the OEM did it.

3M Super 33 is the tape Dan uses and prefers.
I really like the Techflex product. I use a soldering iron with the cut off/burning attachment on the end to cut it. No it doesn't protect from liquids but I'm not using it where it would see liquid. I used it from the passenger side headlight harness to the drivers side. I used it in the group of wires from the fuse box to the headlights/fan/water pump on the drivers side. The wires are open inside of it, not tapes. On the ends after I cut/burnt them I use a super tight zip tie to hold it in place and closed. I like the split wrap, it overlaps itself by a 1/3 so seals up nicely. I am also using it on all the wiring inside the car and then zip ties to hold it and the harness to the dash bar as I have removed all the factory mounts from it.
I've used tape on the end of the Techflex product before, that's how it's in my '32 but even using high quality harness tape it seems to eventually work loose on the ends. Zipties come of quick if you need to get to the wires and go back on, they also don't come loose. I always locate the "knob" part of the ziptie to the back side so you can't see it.
My engine harness is going to be done in the Techflex wrap too but I will tape the living **** out of it before it goes inside the wrap. That I want to keep free of any fluids.
