blower motor is super light - all plastic I want to say maybe 2 to 3 lbs...I didnt get the full heater core (white dealie on dash) off since the AC lines come in thru the back and I didnt want to get refrigarant everywhere. I just slid it off and pull out the dash mat.

Nothing under the dash can removed dudi - I would love it if I could just attach the instrument cluster and HVAC control without having to put dash back in....Car would look so mean and so clean.

My non-powered RS mirrors should be here today, I hope.

After 4 days of laboring, the slim and trim harness is finally complete except for that one weird small fuse box dealie. If I was eliminating AC and heat, it would be even skinnier, but I deletd a whole bunch of wires. Its a cool mess on the kitchen floor. Also, door harnesses were heavy too and I pulled them all out alltogether...

Such a pain doing the harness, pulling each pin out that wasnt needed to make it look all clean and stock-like requires some serious work.

Yea my friend said the blower was surprisingly light. You don't have to worry about refrigerant going anywhere. Just crack open one of the lines under the hood and it will all evaporate. Technically this illegal and bad for the environment, if you want you can go to a mechanic and have him drain it but its won't be liquid if it comes out into the air, it will just be gas so it wont leak anywhere.

You should take some pics of the harness, it sounds like cool work.

Also, make sure to get a weight comparison on the RS windows vs. power windows.

Sorry for the delay but I didn't get time to pick up a scale today

I did finish up the dash for the most part... I'm thinking about buying a small sheet of CF to make block offs for all the open vents and such (if it isn't too expensive) OR make patterns to send someone who can make them... I just remembered I don't have a nice band saw or anything

yea CF inserts would make it look much better.

Try calling AMS as I have seen some of their cars which have inserts in place of the radio and other parts. They might be able to help you out.

Why not take out the clock and the center vents?
Are you going to pull out the carpet?

I just got a clock after a year of not having one... me taking a crap would equal more weight reduction lol.

The center vents are gone... just the vent part itself is still there.

Leaving the carpet... all the sound deadening and padding stuff is gone tho

Ok, boys - here are some pics!

Here are some pics, gang! Not for the faint of heart....

Here is the dash and firewall before:

Removed interior connector harness unmolested:

Removal of dash beam etc to get to firewall mat:

This is the manual conversion (Julian - these are yours, daaaaawg)

Trimmed wiring from interior harnesses (doors and rear to front/main connector harness):

Ok, check this damage out to HVAC pic in 1st pic. What I just murdered this morning in my garage is in 2nd pic. Coincidence - was he the perpetuator of the crime? I have a call into Horatio Kane!

Here are pics after removing sound deadening:

Ok, more to come as I proceed!

I drive it sitting on a milk crate, dude...LOL. Kidding, kidding. FYI - The door panels have been removed a while back and waiting to be shipped to you. Obviously, I couldnt have removed the regulators without removing door panels!

I can't do it until I get another vehicle (preferably a truck). My fiance would cut my junk off if I did.

EvoIXMR - any update on the total weight saving switching to manual windows?
Did you also get the manual window door cards?

I have heard that the power window motors only weigh a small bit more than the manual windows but I have never seen an actual weight figure.
