Who's running a component set?
I'm sure two sets could still sound good, but would it not be a compromise in some way?
Two sets of components? I remember seeing most SQ setups back in the day only have a pair of (round) mid woofers for rear fill, or nothing at all. Maybe so none of their hgihs would cancel each other out and to draw the sound field foward.

All depends on placement for imaging, frequency settings, and power dispursement. The rear components are in the c-pillars facing each other and are operating on 75 watts per channel at about 50% gain, the front are in the floor kick panels and door and are operating on 150 watts per channel at about 65% gain. Imaging is awsome at almost any level, higher volume is bad ***. It's in the May 2006 issue of Car Audio And Electronics Magazine .
I have two pair of Orion Components Front & Rear, Not too bad. Don't like the titanium tweeters though when I get home I will probably either go with Polk's or PPE. They are running of a pair of Directed 150X2s.
Thanks evo 8 ya. It was a lot of work but it got me in two magazines last year. We thought about just using a pair of coaxials in the back or nothing but without rear speakers you lose the front/rear imaging and with just using coaxials they are ok until you crank it up. The tweeters are adjustable on the XRs, that helps alot for the back. I even have a pair of XRs in the trunk for the PS2.

I have JL Audio XR653-Cs three way component set up front and JL Audio XR 650-Csi two way component set in the rear.
