Sub Sliding Around In The Trunk

I have a 12" Treo TSi in a ported box in my trunk and just about after every time I take the Evo out for a drive, I happen to pop the trunk open to find that the sub is on one side of the car with the carpet all crumpled up. I don't drive hard or take turns hard at all, I seem to notice that the carpet in the trunk likes to slide around a lot when there's a heavy object on it. Anyone else seem to come across this problem? If so, How did you go about solving it, Besides getting a custom fiberglass box that fits in the corner of the trunk.

You can get some L brackets and screw it down in a safe spot

I got a sheet of plywood and cut it out to make the shape of the inside of the trunk and got some L brackets and screwed her down. No more sliding now.

The plywood is an OK idea but it will still be a flying piece of blunt-death in an accident. If you are only going to do plywood I would just use industrial strength velcro.... but I seriously recommend bolting it to something.

I have a rear strut tower bar ... I centered my sub box and used a ratchet strap to hold the box right up against it. Hasnt moved and no holes to drill and no added weight of a sheet of plywood..

Well, I was too lazy to go out and buy plywood and cut it to fit my trunk. I like the idea of the rear strut tower bar and a strap, I did something similar like that when I had my Integra. Rear strut tower bar + chain + master lock = sub's not going anywhere. I would order a strut bar, But I maxed out my credit card already this month on gauges. But I will defiantly look into that. Thanks again for all the replies!

Home depo L brackets or strap, industrial velcro if you dont want to make a hole anywhere...depending on how tall your box is you can also add a little height and attach it topside where its less visible.

EvilBlackEvo, Could you take a picture of that? I haven't seen where the SSL sub is mounted in the Evo.

What's your solution MConsoliA4? Please don't say, 'Take out the sub'. Lol.

I have a rear strut bar. I put two screws in the side of the box, and used a ziptie around each screw and tightened them up against the strut bar.
