$200 I-Pod adapter from Mitsubishi
Mitsubishi offers a $200 dollar I-Pod adapter, but the parts guy didnt know if it works or not in a Evo IX. Just wanted to know if anyone knew anything about it. And I do know that this is not a cost effective alternative to a more functional aftermarket head unit.
Here is the back of a non-SSL OEM head unit:

6 months ago, I got an Alpine head unit and iPod adapter installed for less than $300. If you are seriously considering spending $200 for the ability to play your iPod in the car, you might as well go aftermarket with your deck.

The OEM Ipod adaptor works through the CD changer input, and I read that it generally sucks because you will see only numbers as you select songs. Get an aftermarket HU and adapter that will show you all the artist/album/song information. I have Alpine.
