I had a vision, and considered the clock in the Evo to be superfluous so...

Yeah I hear you-- those ferrites are an eyesore but I'm not sure that I can tuck them behind the bracket that I made. Remote 12V power source would be easy But I've become too lazy. The pending purchase of a Valentine One will force me to go that route however...
