Aftermarket alam system?

Who has what, do you like it, & what would you improve if you could?

I need an alarm system for the EVO as it has been broken into twice. It would be nice to fit into the factory door lock system, & have an interior sensor, & motion sensor. I don't really need the 2way paging or anything like that. Just lock/unlock from the remote, remote about the same size as stock, flashing lights.

I don't want to spend more then $500 installed.

you're golden. go with any DEI unit (Clifford, Python, Viper), unit and you will be good. Make sure it has glass breakage, and if you want a perimeter sensor (motion sensor) make sure the installer will adjust it as needed for free. Work with them on the alarm location. Have them put it in a location that is as hard to get to as possible, and point the horn down to avoid it getting drowned.

I went to Best Buy today, & they have have a Viper V771 installed for under $400, & they have the 2way pager one, with the 1mi range for $500 installed, but it only comes with one pager remote, & an extra is $150.

Remember, an alarm is only as good as its install. The Best Buy's I know pretty much let any kid work on cars, so try and find somebody skilled and experienced. Good Luck!

The Viper 330V works with the factory remotes. I'm not positive, but I bet you can add whatever DEI sensors you want to the system. It's also cheaper than the other DEI systems since it uses the remotes you already have.
