lol this is from a few years ago. i used to have a carputer like that in my sti a long time ago. imo, these are just too much work for the casual user. the in-dash pioneers r just so much more user friendly. my carputer always gave me problems to the point where i even stopped using it for a few months before i sold it. and im a computer systems analyst!

Hmm, all the amazing pics from this thread are now gone...thanks EvoM admin...

Any way restore the attachments from my original posts? It is a bit of a classic thread.

Don't blame someone when they are 0% at fault for this.

The images were hosted on an external site and no longer exist. You hosted your pictures on mp3car.com, copied the whole forum post over to here, and didn't re-host the images on evom.

You're correct.

Mp3car killed my evo wip thread that hosted the original images way back. My bad. If anyone is curious, hit me up and I'll hand over the 3D nav source code, serial.

ItalyIX, did you ever build it?

randomevo, you right that it is a lot of money :-) At the time it was the best you could get for this small of a system.

I've been eyeballing their stuff for a bit, too. But they've not got solutions using the new Broadwell CPUs that take much less power and create much less heat. Heat's the problem in my mind. I'd love a double-din display for tuning, logging, gauge display, music, etc. and am on the lookout for good solutions.

I didn't mean Broadwell, sorry. I mean the new Skylake-based Core M. But you're right. And it'll be then or fall - or next spring - before I'm ready to do anything anyway. LOL
