Weight Reduction questions

I have a friend that I'd like to remove a nice chunk of weight from his car. The body/interior is all mainly stock. 2006 Evo IX MR. (Same car I have)

The first things I'd like him to do are:
Remove front and rear bumper braces.
Remove EVAP that sits in the rear driver-side bumper area.
I'll be installing a mini-battery for him.
We are fiddling with the idea of removing the sound deadening and firewall carpet.

The issue is, I did all of the above on my car, however I have standalone on my car so the EVAP isn't necessary. He has a stock ECU... How do I go about doing that?

Next, I have a cusco front bumper brace that holds my front bumper nose up... How would I remove his front bumper brace and keep his nose up without having to get that brace for him?

Lastly, same as above, for the rear bumper. I bought the JDM rear bumper. He has the OEM evo8 bumper. Is it possible to put it back on after removing the brace?

Any thoughts on these topics or others that remove a nice chunk of weight with his configuration without having to spend some dough would be awesome.

Thanks in advance

-MR

You can remove front & rear crash beams and it will do nothing to the bumper fitment or make it sag...

All the EGR crap can be removed, just need an EGR block off plate & disable everything via ECUFlash...

This is a good weight reduction thread...

Sounds great...

Any tutorials on how to remove door crash beams? Also... do you have a step by step on what to do with the ECU to bypass the EVAP? He needs to pass emissions.

I wouldn't remove crash beams if the car is driven on the street...Get t-boned at a light...donzo...Check out the ECUflash section on the forum, a bunch of info on how to disabled the EGR stuff...
