Installing SE lip and JDM Rear Bumper

On an Evo IX. Is it difficult? Is it time consuming? What tools would you need and such?

thanks.

SE lip:

Make sure you have a rivet gun. You need to rivet the plastic parts to the lip to be able to provide the mounting points back onto the bumper.

Other than that, you should be able to install it using existing hardware...

Taking off the bumper makes the install 100x easier...

is the SE lip any different than the MR lip on a 9? I have a MR 9 and I hate my front lip because it is so low in the front it is preventing me from adjusting my front coilovers lower than they currently are (because I don't want to scrape) - I was looking for options of what I can do here - I don't want to run lipless, as that would just look stupid.

Rivet Gun? WTH? No you don't. You don't need no rivet gun.
I put the SE lip on my IX MR, all you needed were more of those little screws that hold the under-damn. You don't need a rivet gun. It's actually quite easy to put on the lip, you don't have to take off the bumper though it would be easier to do it with the bumper off, but the last time I took it off, it was a PITA to get the fittment perfect again, so I didn't.
As for the rear bumper, I had a Evo Body shop in the area do the install for me. The bumper is pretty expensive and you'll need to modify the rear crash bar to have it fit properly.

The SE lip protrudes out a little further, if you have the no SE IX lip, then you will definitely NOT like the SE lip.

I just don't want the damn thing to hang so far. I don't know why they did that. Are there any aftermarket options? I'd much rather project that lowered appearance by actually lowering the car instead of having the thing just hang like it does.

Thanks guys.

I was searching and found out that you could buy a modified crash bar from Speed Element for like 200 w/ core element and 250 w/o core element.

what is a core element anyways? lol.

so install of the jdm rear is a bizznitch? (guessing from what Infinity has said about taking to the body shop and all.)

well I read to take the bumper off isnt too bad but I dont know about the crash bar.

In the core are protons and neutrons, the protons are positive and the neutrons are neutral: the electrons are negative and just spin around the core all day long...

DUH! Noob (lol j/k)

core is probably part of your stock one that you use over, or mail them to them to mod.
