Question Gauging Interest: Evo 7/8/9 Face Plate for Climate Control Relocation To Lower Cubby

This project is dead!!

The plastics place just wasn't cutting it as far as quality vs. price. I wasn't going to compromise on having something made that didn't look OE, nor was I going to put out a piece that was >100 clams. Small runs of production equals big prices, btw. I refuse to be asscoiated with putting out crap.

For those of you that criticize how long it takes to do something like this, well try it for yourself or STFU!

I was home five (yeah, 5!) days in October and not much more in September...spare time is a rarer and rarer commodity for me. I really don't have time to hunt around for another plastics place and start from scratch, let alone throw more of my hard earned cash at it.

I tried to help, it didn't work out. Sorry. **** and moan as you see fit...or better yet, get off your ***** and try to do something in this vain yourself. There's a novel idea.

I'd definitely be interested, but would need to see something before throwing money up. Also, I just noticed I live about 10 mins from you.

That would be a negative, Ghost Rider! Unless you can teleport, New York state and St. Louis, MO are more on the order of 20 hours apart.

Guys (and Gals...don't want to be seen as sexist ), I'm just trying to see if there is enough interest to justify venturing down in to the 'hood to talk to the plastic fabricators about feasibility and cost. I figured if there are around a dozen+ that would like to know more, then I will go see. No commitments at this point!

I’m ABSOLUTELY interested! I think you need to advertize this more… I’ve been lurking around the forums ever since I got my car at the end of last year, trying to figure out how to do this… Finally decided to just bite the bullet and follow the steps on the thread that you posted, but I’ve NEVER come across this thread in all the time I’ve been looking for a solution.

I’d much rather have something professionally made for a good price than try to do it myself and come out with something that looks half-assed. Hell, if the price is right, I’ll even get two of them. One for my Lancer, and one for my buddy when he gets his Evo in a couple of months!

/seriously

I would be very interested, as I am very unskilled at this and my first attempt at this "works" but is not very satisfying!
