Has anyone successfully done a set of DIY JDM headlights?

I've read the DIY/How-to's so Im not asking how to crack the headlights open, etc... What I'm wondering, has anyone successfully made DIY JDM headlights? I only see writeups for black housing headlights, clearing, etc... I'm talking clear/chrome parking lights, orange turn signal, and black housing. What I'm really curious is if anyone has successfully done this, how did you remove the orange reflector/cover from the turn signal portion of the headlight?

I pretty much have everything else covered. I can remove and pull the headlights apart as well as paint and use orange transparent vinyl for the turn signal portion.

Pics would be great if you've accomplished this is well. Thanks!

I had a 2005 MR that had the very chrome lights and I hated the look so I purchased JDM headlights and tail lights. The tail lights were easy, of course. Just swap bulbs. I left the amber lens alone.

The headlights were a little more work. Mainly because the JDM lights are deisgned for right hand drive cars and the headlight shields will blind on-coming US drivers. I heated up the lights and pryed off the lens so I could swap the US reflector/shields for the HID's. Again, I left the amber lens alone because I liked the look. You can also swap the fog light socke so it will match the US bulb or keep the UK version and adapt the fog light pigtail to the US harness.

OK?

Great information and thank you for that. However I was refering to taking a US set of headlights and converting them to JDM headlights via the DIY black headlight housing writeup. The reflector I was refering to is the amber reflector in the USDM headlight parking lights. I haven't seen anyone successfully remove that. Also how did people go about making the headlight turn signal section amber?

Again, great info and thank you. Just wasnt what I was looking for.

Tons of people have done JDM replicas with USDM lights... check out the how to.

For amber you can get the paint for it.

More info on the paint and write up? I've seen the DIY for cracking open the headlights and doing black housing, but I haven't seen a DIY JDM headlight replica write up.
