Defi's lack of backwards compatability
Defi's lack of backwards compatability
So i have a set of defi bf series gauges, but my link control 2 died. Since defi's new advance series is incompatible, i now have 3 completely useless gauges and sensor sets. Ive called around and it seems i am not the only one in this position, so my question is: what are all the other defi owners out there doing?
Edit: after some digging, ive found that some sensors are compatible with link, racer, and advance series. Sadly the one i need doesnt work with the new advance series.
All in all, i think im done with any gauges that need a controller. It kinda blows that my super expensive gauges are now completely useless because defi stopped caring about support for their older products. Im pretty over defi products as well and will not be going with their new advance series. Its not backwards compatible, yet it has no real added functionality. From what i see the bf advance can do a new little start up dance, and thats it. Not going to spend 1000 bucks only to have it be totally useless when the next series comes along.

Update:
So after messing around with it, the control unit is actually fine. Whats strange is that everything works fine until i plug the turbo sensor into the link contoller, then all 3 give an error message saying they cant communicate with the link controller. Its signal must somehow be interfering with the other signals.
