evo 8 ssl, aftermarket headunit

hey guys, just acquired an evo 8 ssl, the car came with a aftermarket headunit that works, but I am not hearing anything from the speakers. I am not sure if the previous owner had an aftermarket system in there or not, all I know is that the car has a headunit. There is no aftermarket equipment in the trunk currently. I pulled the headunit and everything seems to be connected correctly.

I couldn't find a thread on here where people share how they connect a system in their cars, so that I can trace wires or attempt to understand why there is no sound being produced.

On SSL cars, where is the factory amp located? I figured that would be a great place to start

Can take it out of the dash and make sure its connected properly, and do a continuity check between the wiring from the back of the radio to the speakers to verify that the wiring is intact.
