I put mine on the rearview mirror, ran the cable form behind the headunit up behind the A pillar and the roof panel, then fixed it with the provided small double sided adhesive.

no complaints with noise?

i think what i'm planning to do is mount it to the steering column - shortest, simplest routing, though i realize the a pillar isn't that much more difficult (that's where the gps comes out anyway.

reasoning is that that's where my voice will be directed most of the time, and easy to lean into if i need to talk loud or something. interestingly, my headunit takes a 3.5mm jack. not sure why, but i went ahead and ordered one. it'll be a while before i get everything put together, but fingers crossed i can have usable bt hands free calling in the evo!

I have mine on the steering column as well. It’s a single mic from pioneer. Works pretty good.

ok - the mic i bought didn't work - the one it comes with, does work, but the mounting solution isn't as good.

for those of you who did mount to your steering columns - any rattle or anything? physically, the top of the a pillar is actually closer, but it's just easier to mount on the steering column lol

ok, it does seem like i'll need a trrs mic. i'll try that next, though there's not a lot that are also designed to be used in the car it seems

yah the stripes separate different channels of the plug. You might be able to find an adapter.

yeah - likely better just to get a mic with that trrs built in over adding an adapter though. i guess it'll have to be a clip, to the a pillar
