Popping fuse and car won't start
Hi,
I have an evo 5 that keep popping a fuse when I turn the key.
It is a 10amp fuse in the lower left corner in the fusebox under the dash.
Can someone please tell me what that fuse does.

With a little effort I make it to be fuse 6.
I worked it out by first Googling a picture of the Evo 5 fuse box cover:
Next I lined up fuses 1 - 9 in the circuit diagrams shown on pages C22-24, with the pictures on the cover.
1) Windscreen wipers, 2) Reverse light, 3) Central locking, 4) Speedo, 5) interior lights, 7) is the cigarette lighter, 8) is radio, 9) is indicators.
The one you identified must be fuse 6.
You need to check for shorts in the wiring for each of the following circuits:
• ACTIVE YAW CONTROL SYSTEM
• ANTILOCK BRAKE SYSTEM
• INTERCOOLER WATER SPRAY SYSTEM
• DEFOGGER AND DOOR MIRROR HEATER
• TENSION REDUCER SEAT BELT
• POWER WINDOW
• HEATER
• HEATER AND MANUAL AIR CONDITIONER
• FULLY AUTOMATIC AIR CONDITIONER
Learn to use the diagrams in the manual I sent you to methodically locate all the block connectors in the vehicle that the wires for each of these circuits run through. Pull each block connector in turn to isolate the wiring in short segments for each circuit. Test for continuity between the pins on each wiring block connector, and chassis ground, to identify where the short is located. Remove and repair any sections of the wiring with a short circuit.
It will take a lot of time and patience to complete this methodically. If you don't have the time you will have to pay someone who does!
Good luck with the fix.
