Picked up the kenwood Ipod controller. IPD-500 <---I think thats the #. Anyways it was like $50 new at cartoys. I have an older kenwood deck KMDX91. It installed very easy even for a noovice installer. It controls like a changer (maybee because it hooks up to the changer input).

"She falls down a well her eyes go crossed, she gets kicked by a mule they go back. I don't know."

Anyways I have to say I am happy. Text displays fine and you can controll ipod from the deck. Volume is my only gripe some songs low some high. gonna play with eq settings in Itunes and see. It does charge the little bugger too, so thats a bonus. I give it an 8 out of 10

The two things I dislike about the Kenwood iPod controller are:

[1] It doesn't know what "album shuffle" is, so it just starts playing them in alphabetical order when you hook an iPod in album shuffle mode up to it.

[2] It's pretty tough to navigate to a particular song if you've got a lot of music on your iPod. Generally I just unplug the iPod and use the scroll wheel to get where I'm going and then plug it back in. :)

As for song volume, check if you have "Sound Check" on on your iPod. Try it the other way and see if it helps. If you're still dissatisfied and you're on a Mac, you might check out a product called iVolume. It's a little overpriced, imho, but you can "normalize" your entire iTunes library to one specific volume level.

About point two, You can do that???? Sweet. I was always afraid to disconnect it without the car being off.

And I have my EQ settings different for alot of songs in Itunes, I need to switch them to default.
