Crank angle sensor question. Does the fuel pump prime when...

Need your help EVOM.

When you have a bad CAS does the fuel pump still prime when you turn the car to "on" position?

I am getting no spark or fuel (car just turns over). When you have a bad CAS I know it controls fuel and spark but I am not sure if the fuel pump should be priming though.

Thanks EVOM

The fuel pump should prime with key on even if the CAS is bad. It doesnt know the sate of the CAS with key on since the engine hasnt yet turned over. To determine if the injectors are getting a signal for fuel use a noid light or a logic probe and see if the injectors are activating on the ground side while cranking.

To see if the CAS is sending a signal get EVO SCAN or a logger and log rpm of cam sensor/crank. If you see a signal the CAS should be working. Make sure its not a 180 degrees off. Have you replaced or removed then reinstalled the CAS at some point? Thats all information we need to solve this issue.

One last thing...are there any DTC's?

Thanks,
Derek

Derek,

Thanks for the response. It turns out I had a couple things wrong. #1- 2 wires were loose on the fuel pump and #2 I did have a bad CAS. Once I replaced the CAS it fired p right away.:D
