Galant Hvac In EVO IX - How to Help
So I know there are several threads on this already but they all end up without the answer on how to get this done.
I took the hit in price in an effort to share the information on how to get this done for the community for free. I know alot of people get the orbital or mod there own hvac but I'am not happy with how it looks using that technique. The galant hvac is single din and fits in an oem single din cubby nicely. So on to the How to. I used a multi meter to trace the galants control board and made a table for the pins left to right. Galant 2000 Hvac tore down
The Evo Board is at the top in the picture and is conveintly labeld. I am thinking on just soldering a wire from the galant contorl board over to the the connection's on the evo board for the ac/defrost/recirc/and led's but the vent control has me stuck. Any sugestions anyone? Pic of the galant control http://i1051.photobucket.com/albums/...psdc9756f5.jpg pic of the evo control http://i1051.photobucket.com/albums/...ps91e1f9ef.jpg Looking for sugestions in figuring that part out. I will continue to work at this but am out of time today. I am thinking about using the multimeter to determine when it activates each turn. Anyways thats all for now. |
I would keep the factory harness connectors and rip the connectors off the Evo HVAC board (the plug connectors on the back)
use those and create a subharness that gets soldered to the galant board, this way it's easy to revert if you need to and you're not chopping up your factory harness |
Thats a good Idea llDemonll, I think that will work. I 'll give it a shot and update with pics when done.

OK here is a small Update,
I have soldered in the wiring for AC,Recirc, and Defrost I had to add a split for the Negative side buttons on the Galant AC/Recirc Button because they are not separate like on the evo controller. I also was able to keep the evo ac knob switch in tact and just attach one end of it to the inside of the Galant Hvac controller, pics to come on this soon... Positive/Negative wires soldered in http://i1051.photobucket.com/albums/...ps200ac45a.jpg Positive http://i1051.photobucket.com/albums/...ps5570f660.jpg569FD7A9A8F2-564-00000069FAB37802_zps5570f660.jpg" border="0" alt=" |
Any updates? Is there a way to get a quick guide on what wire goes where?
