Rev limit for stock motor?
With the UTEC 1.6 coming out with adjustable rev limit (no reflash needed), what can the stock motor (and head) rev to with proper tuning? Would it be capable of 8,500rpm?
I believe that over 8000 rpm's on stock Rod Bolts is pushing your luck. The rods are plenty strong enough,it's the rod bolts that are the weak link and prone to break when reving anything past 8k,just ask any of the top engine builders currently building the Evo's 4g63.

Haha, what's what I wanted to know. I didn't change it but just wondering what the stock engine can do. I guess I need to put head studs and since I'm there, an upgraded headgasket and might as well put cams to
