Engine Oil Hitting the Top Hood Undertray

Help, Engine Oil is Hitting the Top Hood Undertray.

I don't know where its coming from, any of you guys experienced this?

It only happened when I changed my cams.

There's not a lot of oil, you can notice it when you run WOT and during Freeway runs.

Anybody help

Dipstick tube? Is your dipstick blowing out? Try zip tying it down and see if it does it again. Only thing I can think of.

Actualy I also have oil on my Catch can hoses coming from the top of the Valve Cover.

I can't trace where the oil is gushing out.

Do you also see oil on the bottom of the engine? Near the T-Case?

There's a breather on the back of the valve cover, looks like a little 90 degree PVC fitting, but grey instead of white. This is probably where it's coming from.

I would venture to say if your car is modified that your getting blowby from the dipstick tube. This is very common on the 4g63.

Is that a bad thing? geting a blowby.

I checked the dip stik and it appears to be not leaking any oil.

Its hitting the hood vent on the lower right side.

I'm also getting oil near the catch can hose lines on the upper valve cover tube, on the right side.

I also checked the 90 degree hose on the back of the valve cover, and it doesn't seem to be leaking any oil.

I saw some oil dripping on the lower radiator hose, and my silicone hose that's connected to the valve cover to the catch can has oil also.

Help

Check the cam angle sensor at the end of the exhaust cam. If the installer failed to re-seal it to the head oil will leak out of there.

Archie,
I'd get new clamps for the catch can setup. How do you have it plumbed?

I would get a compression check before I did anything else to check for blow-by.

4G63>OOOO,

I just have it plugged in without any clamps on the Valve Cover.

Do you think its leaking there? Wouldn't it pop off if its leaking there?

Yeah, it gets pressurized, so get a little clamp on there, no need for compression or leakdown now.

Do you have the other hose on the catch can going to the MAS pipe?
