It happend I believe..please tell if it is true...

Recently everytime I start driving off in 1st gear, once I engage the clutch the car jumps/bogs like the entire tranny is about to come abart and I have to press down the clutch pedal again to stop it... It's worse in the morning when the car was standing for several ours...
Is this a sign of the clutch going bad etc... This is the first time I have this...I have a BMW (manual) too and in 80k miles I never had this problem...and by the way I NEVER launch my car in high rpm...don't do drag racing ...
The car has almost 7000 miles and it is my daily commuter...I can't believe that after almost 7k the clutch might be gone.
Please tell what's wrong with my car, thx.

i don't know if its gone.you could just be letting the pedal out to fast.if it is going,and your looking for a great clutch for low cash.try a ACT

 

Even engaging the clutch very slowly doesn't make a difference...

I have the same problem only it happens for me in reverse only. I've tried playing with more gas and/or more clutch and it still wants to rip the engine out. Now after the morning conflict I don't have any problems during the rest of the day. It's only first thing in the morning. I let it warm up to operating temps before I leave and it still bucks in revese. I too have 7k on the car now.

 

My guess is it's just the clutch being a little sticky while cold. Especially if the problem goes away after first taking off in the morning. My clutch usually feels a little grabby in the morning, but goes away after a couple of stop and go's.

Is it that it's grabbing too well when cold? It's odd but it seems that on my car, the times it has been worst are when I'm driving with the wife. I'm trying to be gentle with the car and it bucks like mad. I don't notice it nearly as much when I'm driving alone since I'm more inclinded to use the loud pedal. I guess the car is just frustated.

 

I have the same thing, after the car has sat all night (gotten cold) the clutch will shudder when starting off. I didnt have this problem the first year it has only started about 2 months ago. Not sure if the clutch is going or what. I don't care as when the clutch does go I will get something better.

 

It sounds like clutch is just chattering when it is cold. My clutch chatters in the morning and especially during cold weathers. After it warms up and run like for 5 min, sometimes longer, it doesn't do that anymore. When I first bought the car, it wasn't like that. After a long time...possibly several thousand miles, it started chattering. I believe it is normal. A lot of people clutch chatters here.

 

Upon start up the next day:

Either you are slowly letting off the clutch to its depressed position, without realizing and the rpms are fading, which causes that big rumble, as you described. If you try to compensate this, with gas, its still going to rumble, becasue yoru slowly letting the clutch out to the depressed position. That could be a possibility. Trust me, ive caught myself doing it and it pisses me off when the whole front end rattles and thumps.

Try giving it 2k+ rpm and let the clutch out...you wont get that problem anymore.

Also, the fact that its probably on your mind, is also causing the problem.

my first and third thought are assumptions based on what i believe you are doing. The second one will cure your problem.

 

I've had this for awhile as well. It started at around 8k and I have 12k now. It feels like my clutch is extra grabby when cold. I combat this problem with the suggestion above (give it 2500 - 3k rpm). After the clutch warms up, no problems what so ever. I assume it's normal since the clutch still holds and I can still shift gears. Also, if I really get on it (4500rpm) it'll still take off like a bat outta hell!!!!
