buschur rods much different from others?

im in the process of building the bottom end up with buschur pistons. im not sure what rods i want. buschur says their rods are machined different "Unlike some of the shops out there selling this particular model connecting rod, we have remachined these units to accept the proper bearings. " i think they use eagle rods. does that mean their rods are better than the other eagle rods sold around here? im wanting to build the motor up with it in the car because of money issues. so i cant do any machining on the block/crank.

They are Eagle rods that are machined to use the proper bearing. I have them in my car, they are light and good for 800WHP. David uses these rods in his Conquest and RWD Talon, he's never had one fail.

sounds good, but what kind of bearings do they use? or do they come with the rods?

What they do are to modify the rods so you can use the EVO design of bearings. The Eagle rods otherwise requires 1G DSM rod bearings. The real difference is that small "tab" that prevents the bearing from spinning which is narrower on the EVO bearings. This in turns means that, at least in theory, the bearing could move slightly side ways which could cause premature ware if you use EVO bearings on standard Eagle rods. So if you buy Eagle rods from some other vendor just make sure to use the 1G bearings and you’d be fine.

Bearings are probably not included in the price but must be purchased separately.

i wish we could get david buschur to comment with his opinion on the bearings to be used best with these rods, versus other eagle rods and the bearings they use.

My opinion is pretty obvious If I thought using the 1G bearing in the EVO was a great idea I would just sell the Eagle rods the way they come. Since I don't think this is a good idea we re-machine the rods to accept the stock EVO bearing.

sounds good to me. i was already sold i think. but where do i get the new bearings? im assuming i cannot reuse the old ones. i wish i could afford your 2.3 . but this will do nicely.

btw, with my bottom end built like this, and head gasket/studs. how much boost should i be able to run with my gt30r? about how much whp would the motor take and still be reliable daily driven?

With forged rods and pistons put in your block with head studs and the proper tune the engine is going to take whatever you put at it, basically.

I have all of our parts in now to do stroker engines. Just got the custom pistons in today, 64 of them.

I am going to offer a cheap package, I think, for guys to do it themselves. I have to get the first one together here first to check it all out.
