Difference in the 2 HKS intakes????

Is the only difference in the HKS RS and super mega flow intakes the polished piping? I mean, is that worth 200 bucks? if its the filter that is different, couldn't you buy the mega flow intake and then pay the 25 bucks to buy a RS filter? im just trying to figure this out, as i read where the RS intake was giving better HP gains over the K&N style. thanks in advance guys!

Yepp, piping is the only difference. And the colour of the foam, yellow on RS and green on the mega flow.

yeah, i knew the color. i mean, is that piping worth an extra 200 bux? whats special about it? is it just a "purty" mod, or does it actually serve a purpose?

The pipe is what makes the power, not the filter.

exactly...the pipe does make the difference, as it removes the corrugated rubber piece with the smooth transition of the stainless steel. If you break down the costs of short rams + seperate pipes (ie Cusco, etc), the HKS RS intake is very fairly priced

One thing to point out too....the foam filter is NOT reusable. Youre supposed to replace at 10k miles. Go to HKS and pick your new replacment filter in a color of YOUR choice.
