What axle back would you go for?

Okay.... I don't really want to go with the entire cat-back system yet. I was thinking about an axle back system... Has anyone had luck with Works or Buschurs?

Do you know do the road if you want to add the cat-back piping you can?

I have heard that most of the agains to the exhaust are because the muffler sucks not the pipes....

If anyone has reviews and experience please let me know...

I dont know if you can do any better than the Works AB, since its simply a muffler delete pipe. I love mine - It was my first mod along with the P2 flash.

The 2nd generation Works AB looks incredible - best looking one on the market imho. check out their site.

I disagree. The stock IP is not that restrictive. You'lll get good bang for the buck with the AB. Check out Works' site.

Well one thing tho if you get pulled over for the axle back, you can't fight it because you don't have a muffler.

If you are just looking for a simple exhaust upgrade, the works ab is a great idea, it will also give you a better result if you are looking to upgrade your down pipe. It's a nice sounding (not too loud) deep growl, light wt. (saves more than 20 lbs) and very inexpensive. My experience is you don't have to upgrade the mid pipe, not unless you are going for further upgrades, (i.e. ems, cams, intake, and more).
If you would like to know more and is interested to purchase mine pm me.

I would too recommend the WORKS exhale AB. It is very nicely made and designed, especially the brushed tip. Although, it might cost a bit more than the competitors, I think you really pay for what you get.

Another choice would be the StealthWorks muffler also from WORKS. They took the stock muffler and modified it for maximum gain and minimal noise. I highly recommend the StealthWorks because you get the gains from a aftermarket AB but the looks of stock since they just mod the stock muffler. For those that want to keep the stock look for warranty and such, I'd go with the StealthWorks muffler.

it's a turbocharged car. the less backpressure you have, the more power you will gain. where did you hear that the muffler was the only thing that really gains power? i think the most restrictive parts are the dp and cat.

Don't be such a JACKASS... everyone is entitled to their opinion, but come on. An AB is not that bad an idea for some. Further more, we'd all do good to run a high flow cat vs. a straight pipe... but a lot of us don't. It's up to what matters to the INDIVIDUAL.

EVONation,

Although I'd choke on the price, the Works is the nicest. The Buschur (doesn't fit nearly as well) is the cheapest short of your muffler shop.

WOW.... I didn't think so many people would be against the AXEL back idea. I really was simply looking to get a little bit more horse power and a little nicer look without looking like a teenager driving down the road.

Even thought some people have been rude on this thread (EVO81) I think I made my choice to go with the WOrks. This way down the road if I want to add the mid pipe I can. But I still have heard if you replace the mid pipe you still won't get huge gains. The muffler is where the restriction comes from....

how much is the works AB anyways? the megan racing catback is like 369 or something and thats for the whole catback system and it's a sweet exhaust..if you're gonna spend 299 on an axel back (not sure of the price) then maybe just spend the extra little bit to get the new midpipe too..
