CEL with 272 cams at idle only???

Every time I let the car idle for a while CEL comes on.
This never happens while driving.
I tried different gas, plugs-no help.
Is there a way to fix that??
Thanks

Yes

Also just to add I do not have cam gears and when I added cams I also added intake, followed by a flash.

Thats misfire is coming for the lumpy cams at idle when they dip down the car almost dies and comes back up again. My car does this alot , my cams at zero'd out. There is a sensor in the cam angle sensor that detects sounds and that is more than likely where it is coming from.

The 272 build cams are engineered for extreme use. The cel comes on due to rough idle. Built for high revs. It was engineered for a slightly different timing. Valve openings closing and so-on. Shouldn't be a big problem at all. Trust me. Consult HKS U.S.A They'll probably tell you the same thing.

They weren't exactly intended for street use.

I've 272 cam on both side, it's a little lumpy but it's not bad. If you've adjustable cam gears try set them at -4/-1 this should give you smoother idle, try it out. Also I'm using Vishnu Xede piggyback, the ver 2 calm down the cams pretty well, give it smoother idle.

I put 264's in tonight and the CEL came on after about 30 miles of driving around. I guess I will have to tune for a smoother idle and hope I don't have to remove the bulb. My only concern is that it didn't come on while idling, but while driving. Does that change things?

From what you guys are saying there is not much I can do to eliminate the CEL.
( at idle only)

I was thinking of putting cam gears to get extra power but then decided not to.

If that is something that may help with CEL though I would consider it again.

Anybody with expierience??

Yep I checked my CEL today and it was the misfire. From what people are telling me, a reflash or tune for the cams will take care of it. I guess we'll see.

Check to see if you have reversed the cam angle sensor cause it goes on both ways.. If the position is not right car will still fire up but will give a cell... Is it harder to start the car?

If you are asking me, it's all installed properly.
