Mitsu installed my clutch but..

Mitsubishi just got done installing the Exedy Twin Disk on my car under warranty. BUT i'm a bit worried. It didnt get any stiffer (i expected to get stiffer) and they didnt bleed the clutch line. What gives? Did they do something wrong? Also its a bit chattery when engaged (normal) and gets noisy at low rpms. Should I take it back and say "fix it?" Or is this all normal?

I'd say as long as you got them to pay for it (!!!) you oughtta get everything you can until you're happy. I'd imagine you'd take it back, though, and they'd say "just be glad we did it for you!"

You don't have to bleed the system for the clutch since you don't have to disconnect the line to the clutch slave cylinder.

Supposedly, clutch pedal pressure on the twin disk is supposed to stay the same, it just has more friction because there are double the friction surfaces, and the surfaces are of a grabbier material. So, overall there is more friction from the same pressure.

As for the clutch being chattery and noisy, well it's a cerametallic twin plate clutch. I've heard they are smooth, but I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't. Twin disks are notoriously noisy as well.

But who knows, there might be a problem, but from what you posted it doesn't sound like it's anything abnormal.

Ohokay that made me feel better. It seems to work fine. But from what I heard - the clutch is suppposed to be stiffer. And it only gets noisy at low rpms (2000ish).

Don't worry about it, everything you just described is normal. Or at least mine is exactly the same.
