A/C hose removal

I was wondering if anyone has done this or if there is a way to do this. I want to remove the A/C hose. It's the hose on the bottom of this photo by the engine damper, but you guys know that. Anyone try this? I never use the A/C and just want to get it out of there. Later on down the road I will remove the A/C completely and go with a shorter belt.

Steve,
You'll want to have all the gases removed from the system first. After that, it's only a few bolts that need removed to get the line out of the way. At that point you can dig out a few other parts including the A/C radiator.

Make sure you evacuate the system first, you can get a shop to do that for you. Please dont just crack the lines and let the freon escape, you can get poisoned that way. After that everything is cake.

I would never do that. That's some bad stuff in there. Any idea the cost of draining at a shop? Shouldn't be much. Just the cost of disposal I would think.

They never dispose of it, it is recycled since there is no loss of quality with newer freon. I would estimate the cost would be under $50 since they do get to keep a couple of lbs of R-134 which I assure you they will install in some other vehicle for a profit.
