A/C hose removal
I was wondering if anyone has done this or if there is a way to do this. I want to remove the A/C hose. It's the hose on the bottom of this photo by the engine damper, but you guys know that.
Anyone try this? I never use the A/C and just want to get it out of there. Later on down the road I will remove the A/C completely and go with a shorter belt.

Steve,
You'll want to have all the gases removed from the system first. After that, it's only a few bolts that need removed to get the line out of the way. At that point you can dig out a few other parts including the A/C radiator.

Make sure you evacuate the system first, you can get a shop to do that for you. Please dont just crack the lines and let the freon escape, you can get poisoned that way. After that everything is cake.

They never dispose of it, it is recycled since there is no loss of quality with newer freon. I would estimate the cost would be under $50 since they do get to keep a couple of lbs of R-134 which I assure you they will install in some other vehicle for a profit.
