well, ive been doing thinking. do you need adj. cam gears to degree out your cam timing? on a 272/272 setup, ive read a +3-3 setup when adjusting the cams is what makes the best power and help settle out the idle. why cant you just let the tensioner loose, and turn the gears one tooth, being that it would not be too much. how much is one tooth compared to degrees on a cam gear? it should be the same thing if say, i tooth back=-3*. has anyone tried this? ive searched with no luck.

A -3/-3 config with an HKS 272 set is a good compromise. The -4/-1 works a bit better if you want a smooth idle.

From what I can tell, there looks to be about 8 cam degrees between cam gear teeth. That being said, you don't have a fine enough means of control to get settings like -4/-1 with trying to move the gears over one tooth. It seems 8 degrees in either direction is all you can do, and that's a bit much.
